Job summary

Earthworks seeks a seasoned Major and Planned Giving Officer to grow a diverse donor portfolio and drive revenue for climate and environmental justice initiatives. You will design tailored asks, coordinate across programs, and steward a growing network of major and planned gifts.

Remote in the United States, with collaboration across a small philanthropy team and board leadership. Strong writing, relationship-building, and strategic planning are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in major gifts and planned giving.
• Proven donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship track record.
• Experience with charitable gift planning and financial concepts.
• Strong writing/editing with clear donor storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of 75–100 donors with a goal of $700k–$1M+ annually.
• Develop and implement cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans.
• Secure gifts and report on donor impact with program/communications teams.
• Build and grow a comprehensive planned giving program and pipeline.
• Provide trainings to staff and board on donor engagement and strategy.
