Job summary

Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP) seeks a Senior Philanthropic Advisor to lead frontline fundraising for principal and major gifts. The role manages a portfolio of $250k+ prospects and focuses on seven-figure commitments that support CJP’s comprehensive campaign across local and global impact.

You will partner with senior leadership and volunteers to craft tailored solicitations, develop donor strategies, and steward relationships, including guidance on DAFs and complex gifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 7-10 years of portfolio management and development experience, including success soliciting and closing gifts at the $250,000 level and above.
• Proven track record of building lasting donor relationships and achieving fundraising goals.
• Familiarity with Donor Advised Funds, planned giving, and working with donors and their advisors.
• Knowledge of the tax benefits and uses of DAFs, including assets.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written/oral communication skills.
• High discretion handling sensitive donor information.
• Familiarity with Jewish culture and the local nonprofit landscape.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage a defined portfolio of principal and major gift prospects; 12–15 meaningful contacts per month.
• Develop and carry out individualized donor strategies; lead high-stakes solicitations with CEO and volunteers.
• Help donors connect with CJP leadership and plan events, missions, and engagement opportunities.
• Identify, qualify, and manage new prospects; participate in pipeline development and donor-advised fund guidance.
• Serve as a resource on giving vehicles (DAFs, endowments, planned gifts) and collaborate with planned giving teams.
