Job summary

The Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP) seeks a Philanthropic Advisor to join its Philanthropic Strategies team as a frontline fundraiser focused on securing six-figure and above gifts, including principal gifts of $1M+. The role manages a portfolio of 125–150 major gift donors and prospects, and collaborates with senior leaders to cultivate and solicit donors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 5–7 years of development experience, including 3+ years frontline major gift portfolio management.
• Track record soliciting and closing gifts at $100,000+ level with upgrades to larger commitments.
• Experience with discovery and qualification of new prospects and building a pipeline.
• Familiarity with Donor Advised Funds and planned giving; strong written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage a defined portfolio of 125–150 major gift donors and prospects with 12–15 monthly contacts.
• Lead discovery outreach to high-capacity prospects and qualify or disqualify promptly.
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward each donor; lead principal gift solicitations with senior leadership.
• Support the comprehensive campaign through strategy development, briefings, and donor stewardship.
• Develop and manage DAF growth strategies and donor engagement with program staff and volunteers.
