Job summary

Alkegen is seeking a Maintenance Technician to repair, maintain, and install equipment in a manufacturing plant. You will handle machine breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure uptime.

A vocational degree or rich maintenance experience is required, with forklift and NEC electrical certifications preferred. The role requires ability to read blueprints, operate shop tools, and adapt to varying shift lengths from 8 to 12 hours.

Qualifications

• Education: Vocational Technical Degree in plant maintenance or 5+ years experience in plant maintenance.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registration: Forklift, NEC Electrical.
• Experience with hydraulics, electrical wiring (110/220/480), water pumps, industrial burners, TIG/STICK/MIG welding, and industrial air compressors.
• Carpentry skills; knowledge of gas applications; qualified electrician is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Works on work order requests from production floor and determines priority.
• Follows all safety and good manufacturing processes.
• Communicate equipment breakdowns and estimated time to complete repairs to production and QA.
• Dismantles devices to access parts and replaces defective components.
• Lubricates and cleans parts and machinery; tests and adjusts equipment to specs.
• Operates lathe, drill press, grinder, saws to make/repair parts.
• Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines; repairs electrical equipment including PC controllers.
