Job summary

Abbott in La Jolla, CA is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to perform general repairs and preventive maintenance across facility systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and instrumentation. The role supports ongoing process improvements and may assist senior technicians on projects and on-call coverage.

Qualifications include an associate degree in electrical/mechanical maintenance or HS diploma with experience, 4+ years in similar settings, and strong documentation and teamwork

Qualifications

• Associates degree in electrical or mechanical maintenance or HS diploma with 2 years experience in lieu.
• 4+ years of experience in building maintenance, construction, or mechanical repair.
• Proficient with hand tools, small power tools, multi-meters and various test equipment.
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, compressed air, and related facility systems.
• Ability to read, interpret and understand safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures; blueprints.
• Valid driver's license; no major driving violations in recent years.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Communicate facility and safety related issues to Facilities Management and coordinate with vendors.
• Assist in managing spare parts for facility utilities and supplies to minimize downtime.
• Support electrical distribution, plumbing, HVAC, compressed air systems, and related infrastructure.
• Enter and close work orders in the CMMS system.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and participate in on-call coverage.
