Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Maintenance Technician III for our La Jolla, CA location. You will perform general repairs and preventive maintenance on facility mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and related systems in office, R&D, GMP, and clinical environments.

Key requirements include 4+ years in building maintenance, proficiency with hand/tools and test equipment, and knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and safety systems. Strong documentation and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in electrical/mechanical field or HS diploma with 2 years in lieu.
• 4+ years building maintenance or mechanical repair experience.
• 4+ years using hand tools, power tools, multi-meters and test equipment.
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, compressed air, and related systems.
• Basic computer skills: Internet, email, word processing; MS Office incl Excel macros.

Responsibilities

• Communicate facility and safety issues to Facilities Management.
• Manage spare parts to minimize equipment downtime.
• Support electrical, plumbing, HVAC, compressed air, and life safety systems.
• Enter and close work orders in CMMS system.
• Perform preventive and demand maintenance with proper documentation.
• Conduct daily/weekly/monthly building inspections and follow up actions.
