Job summary

NIDEC Defense Group is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for the second shift in Illinois to keep automated production lines running at peak performance. You will diagnose and repair electro‑mechanical equipment, read blueprints, and support preventive maintenance programs across high-speed assembly machinery.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo drives, and vision systems, filling out documentation, and training operators in basic PM tasks.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of maintenance troubleshooting on automated assembly equipment.
• Reading blueprints, diagrams, and equipment manuals.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo motors/drives, and vision systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, diagnose, and repair machine problems on automated production lines.
• Lead troubleshooting on electrical, controls, and communication issues.
• Support preventive maintenance programs and PM scheduling.
• Train operators on basic PM tasks and documentation.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and assist with parts purchasing.
