The City of Raleigh is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician for its Public Utilities Department. This role involves leading a crew to maintain sewer systems, ensuring public health through effective sewer management. The Senior Maintenance Technician functions as the lead worker of each two-man crew assigned to the Reactive Maintenance Program within the Sewer Maintenance Division. Crews within this program respond to calls for service to address sewer system blockages and overflows by cleaning sanitary sewer mains. Staff in this role are responsible for maintaining and operating combination jet/vac equipment used to clean sewer structures with high-pressure water hoses and nozzles.
High School Diploma or GED and three years of related equipment operation/driving experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Positions require physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting up to 100 pounds, and working in various environmental conditions including outdoor, noisy, and potentially hazardous settings.
