GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: To perform various skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance of machinery, buildings, and equipment; to perform work of a skilled level in several trades; and to do related work as required.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Receives general directions and instructions from a superior with wide latitude for the exercise of independent judgment; work is reviewed on completion.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Supervises helpers and others who are assigned to assist.
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND CAPACITIES: A working knowledge of standard practices, materials, tools, and processes related to trades in building maintenance; operation of mechanical equipment; use of common tools and materials; ability to make varied repairs independently; ability to supervise helpers; ability to work from sketches and diagrams; and related capacities.
Education and Experience: Completion of ten school grades and employment in building and plant maintenance involving at least two trades (building, electrical, or mechanical). Alternatively, any combination of education and experience substantially equivalent.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be physically qualified to perform duties, evidenced by a physician's certificate.
