Position Overview
The Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general maintenance and cleanliness of the property, as well as oversight of maintenance systems to ensure optimal operations and client/tenant satisfaction in accordance with departmental protocols. The SMT will collaborate effectively with co-workers, contributing to a dynamic and engaging work environment.
Responsibilities
- Complete work orders related to the physical maintenance and repair of assigned buildings using work order software
- Implement routine physical improvements
- Respond to emergencies in accordance with departmental protocols
- Assist the Supervisor in managing inventory of equipment, tools, and supplies, and ensure maintenance logs are current
- Collaborate with the Supervisor to implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan and maintain related records
- Assist in controlling expenses associated with building operations
- Communicate building status and changes to appropriate personnel
- Adhere to all safety standards, policies, procedures, codes of conduct, and industry best practices
- Interact professionally and courteously with tenants, hospital clients, co-workers, vendors, patients, and other stakeholders
- Use materials, tools, and building resources safely and efficiently
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of related work experience and technical training required; 5+ years preferred
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training in maintenance-related courses preferred
- CFC Handling Certification preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
- Working knowledge of tools and their safe, proper use
- 24-hour availability for emergencies and participation in on-call rotation
- Ability to perform extensive walking, climb stairs/ladders, and lift or carry at least 50 pounds using proper body mechanics
- Willingness to work overtime on special projects as needed
- Ability to interpret design documents, manufacturer specifications, and written procedures
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster teamwork and maintain positive relationships
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks for timely, accurate completion
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new job-related software
