Job summary

AvalonBay Communities is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician in Arlington, VA to handle resident service requests, perform hands-on maintenance, and ensure market-ready apartments. The role may include supervisory duties in the absence of the Service Manager.

Ideal candidates will have HVAC, plumbing, electrical experience and EPA certifications if required, with strong communication skills and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience in plumbing, electrical, appliance, and HVAC.
• EPA Section 608 Type I/II or Universal certification within 90 days if required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Address resident service requests promptly.
• Perform hands-on maintenance tasks including plumbing and electrical work.
• Prepare market-ready apartments and maintain community grounds.
• Conduct regular community inspections to identify repairs or replacements.
• Assist in managing maintenance inventory.
