Job summary

AbbVie in North Chicago, IL seeks a Senior Maintenance Technician to independently perform high-level maintenance tasks in the maintenance department and train junior technicians. Shift is 6am-2:30pm, Monday–Friday, with focus on reliability, GMP compliance, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include asset care, root cause analysis, drafting maintenance plans, cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring safety standards.

Qualifications

• HS diploma with 10+ yrs. Experience or Relevant Certificate with 5+ yrs. experience or Associates technical degree with 3+ yrs. Experience, or proficient in two or more skilled maintenance functions.
• CMRT (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician) or equivalent accreditation desired
• Knowledge and ability to use advanced tools (i.e. machine tools, diagnostic tools, predictive tools)
• Intermediate computer skills (MS Windows)

• Assists in root cause investigation and reliability centered maintenance analysis
• Capable of training others on tasks.
• Is proficient in multiple skilled trade disciplines and creates or edits maintenance job plans
• Fully proficient in their core function, performing advanced level tasks
• Assist cross functional teams outside of the maintenance organization
• Supports continuous improvement projects and safety initiatives within the maintenance organization and/or the site
• Understands and follows all safety and GMP regulations
• Assist cross functional teams outside of the maintenance organization
