Job summary

Schwan's Company is seeking a maintenance technician to lead preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair conveyor systems and production machinery in a food manufacturing environment. You will perform major repairs, fabrication, and installation including welding to food-safe standards, and train production teams on maintenance best practices to minimize downtime and ensure safety.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related maintenance experience.
• Experience with high-speed manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Electrical and basic to advanced building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of conveyor systems and production machinery to ensure continuous plant operations.
• Execute major equipment repairs, fabrication, construction, and installation projects, including welding to food-safe standards.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues through detailed inspection, use of precision measuring tools, and interpretation of mechanical schematics.
• Fabricate and maintain critical plant components such as guards, doors, steps, shafts, sprockets, and mounting brackets using lathes, metal sheers, benders, and welding equipment.
• Provide training and guidance to production teams on maintenance best practices to reduce downtime and ensure compliance with safety and operational protocols.
