Job summary

Schwan’s Company in North East, PA is hiring a Maintenance Technician II for the 3rd shift to keep conveyor systems and food production equipment running smoothly. You will perform preventive maintenance, complex mechanical repairs, assist with setup and installations, diagnose issues, and document work in SAP to coordinate with teams.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years on-the-job maintenance experience, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.
• 3+ years of related experience.
• Work different ranges of hours such as full-time, overtime, or weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct advanced preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on conveyor systems and food production machinery to ensure reliable operation and minimize downtime.
• Perform complex mechanical repairs including shaft keying, sprocket broaching, gear head replacement, stainless steel welding, hydraulic hose fabrication, and belt maintenance using specialized tools and equipment.
• Assist with equipment setup, teardown, welding, fabrication, and installation of new or modified plant machinery to support production needs.
• Diagnose mechanical issues through observation, auditory assessment, and use of precision measuring instruments, and effectively identifying and resolving root causes.
• Utilize SAP software to document maintenance activities, track work orders, and communicate effectively with production and operations teams to optimize workflow.
