Job summary

Schwan's Company in Ohio is seeking a maintenance technician for a full-time role in a food manufacturing environment. Starting pay is $40.00 per hour, 1st shift, hours 5:00 am - 1:30 pm.

You will lead preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of conveyor systems and production machinery, with welding to food-safe standards. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 5+ years of multi-craft maintenance, PLC experience, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.
• Multi-craft maintenance experience.
• 5+ years of related experience; machine shop equipment, CNC programming and welding experience preferred.
• PLC experience.
• Advanced mechanical knowledge; electrical and building skills.
• Experience with high-speed manufacturing equipment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Lead preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of conveyor systems and production machinery to ensure continuous plant operations.
• Execute major equipment repairs, fabrication, construction, and installation projects, including welding to food-safe standards.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues via inspection, precision measuring tools, and schematics.
• Fabricate and maintain plant components such as guards, doors, steps, shafts, sprockets, and mounting brackets using lathes, shears, benders, and welding equipment.
• Provide training to production teams on maintenance best practices to reduce downtime and ensure safety.
