Job summary

The NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor 2 to oversee a maintenance crew across multi-county residential properties and a campus setting. You will supervise skilled trades, coordinate project work flow, and enforce safety standards while collaborating with the Business Office on maintenance contracts.

Responsibilities include inspecting work, training staff, and ensuring efficient labor and material use.

Qualifications

• Two years of first-level supervisory experience in either the maintenance and operation of a physical plant; building construction; and/or building renovation and/or repair projects.
• Promotion: one year of permanent service as a Maintenance Supervisor 1 and reachable for appointment on the current Civil Service Eligible List for this title.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and provides technical direction to a maintenance crew performing building maintenance, repairs, construction and installation activities.
• Reviews maintenance requests and determines scope, materials, equipment, and labor required.
• Coordinates project work flow and enforces and schedules workforce per preventive maintenance program.
• Oversees safety procedures and inspects work for compliance with plans and specifications.
• Assists in annual operating budget preparation and supervises clerical activities related to work orders and reports.
