Job summary

The NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities in the Town of Goshen seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to plan, supervise, and direct maintenance and construction projects. You will oversee skilled and unskilled staff, coordinate resources, and enforce safety standards while ensuring work is completed on schedule.

Responsibilities include reviewing requests, preparing estimates, directing rehabilitation projects, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Two years of first-level supervisory experience in maintenance/plant operations.
• Open Competitive: two years supervisory experience in maintenance/building projects.
• Transfer: eligible for transfer under Civil Service rules or able to transfer per sections of Civil Service Law.

Responsibilities

• Plans, supervises, and directs staff to complete maintenance projects.
• Reviews maintenance requests and determines materials, labor, and equipment required.
• Prepares sketches, plans, estimates, and work schedules.
• Directs rehabilitation and construction projects and preventive maintenance programs.
• Ensures safety procedures and standards are followed by all staff.
• Inspects work and verifies compliance with plans and codes.
• Maintains records of work performed and material usage; evaluates staff performance.
