Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Maintenance Supervisor IV to lead the maintenance team at the Lufkin State Supported Living Center. You will supervise HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and grounds work, manage schedules, estimate costs, and coordinate with contractors to ensure safe, reliable facility operations.

The role requires strong supervisory skills, knowledge of NFPA standards, and experience in preventive maintenance programs.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
• Vocational training in designated maintenance trades is preferred.
• Experience in general construction and maintenance work is required.
• Supervisory experience is preferred for this role.
• Must possess a valid Texas driver license or obtain it within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance and construction staff and schedule work.
• Estimate hours and materials for projects and coordinate with supervisors.
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs and inspections of systems.
• Supervise contractor repairs and verify work completion and invoices.
• Support disaster response and Continuity of Operations (COOP) activities as needed.
