Job summary

Big Spring Center for Skilled Care in Texas is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead daily maintenance operations, keep the facility safe and compliant, and manage a team in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

You will oversee preventive maintenance, HVAC, boilers, water systems, and generators; supervise contractors; and control supply budgeting while training staff and coordinating schedules to meet census needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in facility maintenance (healthcare or long-term care preferred).
• Knowledge of HVAC, boilers, water systems and emergency systems.
• Ability to implement and manage a preventive maintenance program.
• Demonstrates strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage supply ordering and departmental budgeting.
• HVAC experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead Maintenance Operations: hire, train and supervise maintenance team members.
• Promote Safety & Compliance: conduct and document fire system inspections and coordinate monthly fire drills.
• Oversee Preventive Maintenance: develop and implement a preventive maintenance program.
• Maintain Equipment: inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, boilers, water systems, laundry equipment, and generators.
• Manage Supplies & Budget: order maintenance supplies and equipment within budget guidelines.
• Supervise Contractors: oversee work by external contractors.
• Maintain Standards: ensure facility and equipment are safe, operational and compliant with regulations.
• Train Staff: provide job-specific training and promote safety adherence.
• Coordinate Schedules: plan department staffing according to census needs and labor budgets.
