Job summary

Cortland is hiring a Senior Maintenance Technician-Summermill in Raleigh, NC. You will lead maintenance efforts, mentor technicians, and own complex issues to keep the property safe and well‑maintained. You will manage preventative maintenance and respond to emergencies while delivering high‑quality service to residents.

The role requires EPA certification and 3–5+ years in maintenance or multi‑family housing, with strong electrical, plumbing, and HVAC skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Universal EPA certification required; CPO is preferred.
• 3–5+ years of experience in maintenance, facilities, or multi‑family housing.
• Advanced skills in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliance repair, and general building systems.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support Service Technicians and assist in leading maintenance operations.
• Serve as acting lead in the Service Manager’s absence.
• Diagnose and repair advanced issues in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and general building systems.
• Address unsafe conditions and ensure timely corrective action by the team.
• Monitor and report on building and security systems, including automatic doors and cameras.
• Perform and oversee preventative maintenance on HVAC and building equipment.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and spare parts.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and respond to property and resident emergencies.
• Provide professional, high‑quality customer service to residents.
• Document all work completed and report recurring issues.
