Job summary

Recover-Care Heartland seeks a Maintenance Director to supervise the maintenance department, ensuring environmental center compliance with federal, state, and local codes. The role ensures the center is sanitary, attractive, and in good repair, free of hazards related to electrical, plumbing, ventilation, heating, and cooling systems.

The position requires strong supervisory experience, knowledge of maintenance procedures in a commercial setting, and preferred experience in long-term care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma.
• One to two years of supervisory experience in a commercial establishment with knowledge of laundry/housekeeping/maintenance procedures.
• Minimum of 2 years work experience in long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Environmental Services personnel and daily work to enhance service levels while controlling budgets and staff issues.
• Processes and maintains records of accounts payable, supplies, equipment maintenance, and other department business.
• Executes the preventive maintenance program and record-keeping systems to maintain high physical function of the center.
• Develops center profile and physical plant history with complete maintenance documentation, including replacement parts and fuel records.
• Performs routine maintenance and repairs in accordance with applicable regulations and building codes.
• Collaborates with residents, nurses, physicians, and staff on maintenance requests, infection prevention, and interdepartmental matters.
• Maintains electrical and mechanical equipment in good working order.
