Job summary

Heritage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center seeks an experienced Director of Maintenance & Housekeeping to lead our Maintenance and Housekeeping departments in a healthcare setting.

A hands-on leader who ensures a clean, safe, well-maintained, and survey-ready facility while overseeing regulatory compliance and day-to-day operations. This role reports to Administration and steers two critical departments within the facility.

Qualifications

• Experience as Maintenance Director or Environmental Services leadership in healthcare.
• Strong knowledge of Life Safety and regulatory surveys.
• Experience with DOH/CMS requirements.
• Hands-on and proactive facility operations leader.
• Ability to manage Maintenance and Housekeeping teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all Maintenance and Housekeeping operations.
• Lead, schedule, and supervise staff.
• Ensure the facility remains clean, safe, and survey-ready.
• Manage preventive maintenance programs, repairs, inspections, and work orders.
• Conduct routine building inspections and address issues promptly.
• Maintain required maintenance and Life Safety documentation.
• Ensure compliance with NYSDOH, CMS, Life Safety, OSHA, and fire safety requirements.
• Oversee outside vendors, contractors, and facility projects.
• Manage departmental supplies and inventory.
• Work closely with the Administrator and leadership team on facility needs.
• Respond to urgent maintenance and building issues as needed.
