Job summary

Delano Miami Beach is seeking a Maintenance Engineer II to maintain and repair building systems across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, ensuring safe and clean environments.

The role requires 2+ years of hotel maintenance experience, knowledge of HVAC, electrical and plumbing, and a strong safety mindset. You will troubleshoot, document activities, and respond to maintenance requests and emergencies to support outstanding guest service.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years hands-on building maintenance or engineering experience in hotel, resort, or similar environment.
• Knowledge of carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and mechanical repairs.
• Proficient in diagnosing equipment malfunctions and performing timely repairs to minimize downtime.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance, including repairs, painting, and upkeep of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
• Install, replace, and repair lighting fixtures, bulbs, and electrical wiring.
• Inspect and test machinery and equipment, diagnosing issues to prevent breakdowns.
• Repair and replace defective machinery parts to restore full functionality.
• Assist in delivery and installation of new equipment such as TVs, mattresses, and furniture.
• Maintain the physical structure of the hotel, including walls, floors, doors, and windows.
• Troubleshoot and repair commercial kitchen equipment to support uninterrupted food service operations.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment and systems, documenting activities in maintenance logs.
• Respond promptly to guest and departmental maintenance requests, ensuring high satisfaction and operational efficiency.
• Communicate with maintenance supervisors and management regarding projects, repairs, and safety issues.
• Participate in training sessions to stay updated on safety protocols and company standards.
• Follow all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth hotel operations.
• Respond quickly to emergencies like fires and power outages to protect guests, staff, and property.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors to support maintenance and hotel operations.
