Job summary

Delano Miami Beach is seeking a Maintenance Engineer II to maintain and repair building systems, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, locks, furniture, and finishes. The role ensures the smooth operation of property maintenance through skilled troubleshooting and adherence to safety standards.

The Maintenance Engineer II will perform general building maintenance, install and repair lighting, inspect machinery, and support safety and guest service across the hotel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience in building maintenance or engineering in a hotel, resort, or similar environment.
• Knowledge of general building maintenance, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and mechanical repairs.
• Skilled troubleshooting and repairing electrical wiring, lighting fixtures, motors, pumps, and HVAC equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Experience with preventive maintenance procedures and maintaining maintenance logs.
• Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment repair and maintenance.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, OSHA standards, and proper use of PPE.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance, including repairs, painting, and upkeep of guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces.
• Install, replace, and repair lighting fixtures, bulbs, and electrical wiring to maintain lighting and safety standards.
• Inspect and test machinery, diagnose issues by listening to unusual sounds and observing operations to prevent breakdowns.
• Repair and replace defective machinery parts to restore full functionality promptly.
• Assist in delivery and installation of new equipment such as TVs, mattresses, and furniture.
• Maintain the physical structure of the hotel, including walls, floors, doors, and windows.
