Job summary

Magna Powertrain in the United States seeks a maintenance/controls engineer to lead installations, upgrades, and TPM initiatives. You will develop work instructions, train operators, and promote autonomous maintenance across the team.

Strong PLC and HMI skills with AB/Siemens systems are required to optimize uptime and reliability. The role emphasizes 5S, continuous improvement, and collaboration with manufacturing and quality to resolve issues and advance Factory 4.0 concepts.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED is required.
1-3 years’ leadership or supervisory experience.
3-5 years’ controls experience in automotive manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of PLCs (AB and Siemens); robotics preferred.
Experience with HMI programming and networks such as Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute new installations, upgrades and continuous improvements.
Assist in TPM program implementation and standard work.
Develop work instructions to train operations in autonomous maintenance.
Coach Maintenance team and apply 5S in department and common areas.
Troubleshoot PLC programs and machines; support root-cause analysis with teams.
Improve equipment uptime and process reliability; support Factory 4.0 initiatives.
