Job summary
M&T Bank Corporation in the United States is seeking an experienced IBM z/OS Systems Programmer III to install, configure, and support the mainframe OS and related software in production and non-production environments. You will lead upgrades, migrations, and service implementations while mentoring junior staff and driving operational excellence.
The role requires deep expertise in z/OS, SMP/E, Parallel Sysplex, RMF, and security controls, with a focus on resiliency, automation, and cross-team
Qualifications
- Requires strong IBM z/OS system programming experience in a large enterprise.
- Experience with SMP/E software maintenance and lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with mainframe modernization, security, DR/BCP, and capacity planning.
- Mentoring and technical leadership across technology teams.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain IBM z/OS and related system software.
- Lead z/OS upgrades, migrations, and service implementations.
- Provide technical leadership for enterprise mainframe infrastructure.
- Develop automation to improve operational efficiency and reliability.
- Participate in capacity planning and performance analysis.
- Provide after-hours support for planned changes and incidents.
