Job summary

M&T Bank Corporation is seeking a Systems Programmer III – Mainframe Networking to design, implement, and support IBM z/OS mainframe networking infrastructure for critical banking applications. You will work with security, operations, and development teams to ensure high availability and compliance with banking standards.

The role requires expert knowledge of VTAM, TCP/IP, TLS, OSA-Express, and middleware like CICS, DB2, MQ on Z.

Qualifications

• Expert-level knowledge of z/OS Communication Server including VTAM/TCP/IP/DNS
• SMP/E & z/OSMF for software install/maintenance
• Fluency in JCL, REXX, CLIST; analyze complex mainframe networking issues

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, administer, and support IBM z/OS mainframe networking infrastructure.
• Act as senior technical expert for mainframe communications; ensure secure, resilient connectivity.
• Lead projects like software upgrades, hardware refreshes, and disaster recovery planning.
