Job summary

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in mainframe management, deep knowledge of z/OS, CICS, IMS, and strong collaboration across agencies and data centers. The role requires after-hours availability as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field with four years of full-time related experience.
• Eight years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
• Equivalent combination of education/experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of system programmers, manage day-to-day operations, scheduling, and performance.
• Plan and coordinate upgrades for mainframe hardware and subsystems.
• Research, evaluate, and implement modernization strategies for mainframe systems.
• Oversee daily mainframe operations, monitoring, incidents, change management, and project intake.
• Collaborate with managers, agencies, and staff; document technical issues clearly.
• Coordinate team resources to complete projects with other departments and the data center.
• Plan work, manage timelines, and provide accurate status updates.
• Support staff in learning new technologies and maintaining issue resolution.
