Job summary

NYC FISA-OPA seeks a Mainframe Systems Manager to lead the mainframe systems team, oversee workload distribution, and provide technical leadership for IBM mainframe environments.

You will coordinate upgrades, monitor daily operations, manage incidents, and collaborate with agencies and data center staff to deliver reliable mainframe services. 35 hours weekly, on-site in NYC.

• Research, evaluate, and implement strategic technological solutions to modernize and optimize mainframe systems.
• Oversee all aspects of daily mainframe operations, including monitoring, incident response, change management, and project intake.
• Collaborate with managers, peer managers, external agencies, and technical staff, documenting and explaining technical issues clearly.
• Complete team projects by coordinating resources and collaborating with other departments and the data center.
• Plan work, manage timelines, and provide accurate status updates as required.
• Support staff in learning new technologies quickly and resolving issues efficiently.
