Job summary

Truist is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer in the Mainframe Security team to ensure secure access control across mainframes, including identity management and certificate administration. The role emphasizes RBAC, auditing, and risk management within a SOX/HIPAA/PCI-DSS compliant environment.

You will collaborate with IAM, infrastructure, and audit teams; mentor junior engineers and lead RACF-related projects, migrations, and automation initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education, training, and work-related experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in security engineering or related cybersecurity roles.
• Deep specialized knowledge in cybersecurity principles, theories, and concepts.
• Proven experience in software development lifecycle security practices.
• Deep knowledge of threat modeling, security testing, and penetration testing.
• Experience implementing and managing complex information security technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead RACF administration activities: user provisioning, access reviews, cleanup of obsolete IDs and datasets.
• Design and maintain RACF profiles, groups, and resource classes for security and compliance.
• Monitor and audit RACF activity using SMF, IRRDBU00, and zSecure tools; ensure least-privilege access.
• Develop automation scripts for RACF provisioning and reporting using REXX, CLIST, and JCL; support security incidents and outages.
• Participate in RACF migrations, system upgrades, and integration with external identity systems (LDAP).
• Document RACF policies, procedures, and standards; support audit and compliance reporting.
