This role will specialize in hardware refreshes and system upgrades. Looking for someone that excels in modernizing infrastructure, optimizing system performance, and delivering innovative technologies to drive transformative business outcomes. Candidate must bring expertise, strategic vision, and a proactive enterprise approach to solve complex mainframe challenges.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Performs problem tracking, diagnosis, root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution for highly complex issues.
• Oversees others who perform programming and debugging activities.
• Responds to issues in a timely manner by investigating incidents or service tickets.
• Provides technical consultation on challenging or unusual situations.
• May lead large, complex projects related to improving processes or support capabilities.
• Engages and manages external vendors.
• Interprets business challenges and recommends best practices.
• Uses analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify solutions.
• Mentors less experienced teammates.
• May have people management responsibilities.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and eight years of experience in development or production support, or an equivalent combination.
• Deep specialized and/or broad functional knowledge.
• Understanding of business strategies and processes.
• Ability to interpret business challenges and recommend practices.
• Ability to lead complex projects.
• Sophisticated analytical skills for solving technical and business problems.
• Ability to influence senior levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree or MBA and ten years of experience, or equivalent.
• Banking or financial services experience.
• Experience with zOS full version upgrades.
• Proficiency with hardware refreshes for CECs, DASD, and VTS.
• Experience with zOSMF workflows, GDPS, OPS/MVS, and mainframe optimization.
• Knowledge of mainframe disciplines like VTAM, CICS, DB2, and AI solutions.

Other Job Requirements / Working Conditions

Includes sitting frequently, lifting up to 25 lbs, working with office equipment, availability for overtime and travel up to 25%.
