Job summary
IPolarity is seeking a seasoned Mainframe Developer with MQ Series expertise to lead modernization discussions and architecture for key accounts. This remote USA role focuses on DB2, VSAM, JCL, COBOL, CICS, and MQ, shaping proposals and working with delivery teams to ensure scalable, reliable mainframe solutions.
You will drive pre-sales activities, present compelling business cases, and align technical capabilities with client outcomes.
Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of DB2 administration/programming.
- Hands-on experience with VSAM file structures and performance tuning.
- Strong JCL skills for batch processes and impact estimation.
- Solid COBOL experience for business logic modernization.
- CICS background covering transaction flows and resiliency design.
- Familiarity with IBM MQ messaging in mainframe contexts.
- Native-level fluency in English (written and spoken).
Responsibilities
- Develop strategic account plans aligning mainframe tech with client roadmaps.
- Partner with stakeholders to shape workloads into modernization proposals.
- Collaborate with solution architects to build end-to-end narratives.
- Prepare proposals, SOWs, and effort estimates for complex engagements.
- Deliver presentations on mainframe tech benefits and ROI.
- Run pipeline reviews and support pre-sales demos/POCs.
- Document requirements for delivery handoffs and CRM updates.
- Coordinate cross-time-zone collaboration during standard day-shift hours.
