Job summary

Bank of America in Jersey City seeks an experienced mainframe developer to design, build, and maintain high‑performing, scalable web applications supporting Account Analysis Billing & Pricing systems. You will work across COBOL, CICS, DB2, and related tools to meet functional and non‑functional requirements.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in mainframe development, strong CI/CD, and collaboration across cross‑functional teams in an Agile setting.

Qualifications

Experience in all phases of the SDLC/STLC and their interrelationships.
10+ years of mainframe development with CICS, COBOL, DB2.
Proficient in JCL, Endevor, VSAM, Easytrieve+.
Proficient in mainframe assembly language; knowledge of NDM & SFTP.
Familiarity with Jira and Agile development environments.

Responsibilities

Code solutions and unit test to deliver a story per acceptance criteria and compliance requirements.
Design, develop, and modify architecture components and interfaces while maintaining integrity.
Mentor others on CI/CD practices and automation of the tool stack.
Refine stories, define requirements, and estimate work across the delivery lifecycle.
Perform spike/POC to mitigate risk or implement new ideas.
Automate manual release activities.
Develop and maintain automated test suites (integration, regression, performance).
Develop and deliver complex software requirements and ensure end-to-end mainframe applications.
