Job summary

Q1 Technologies, Inc. is seeking a senior technical lead with extensive COBOL and mainframe experience to drive legacy modernization and new development initiatives.

You will manage offshore teams, migrate legacy systems to distributed platforms, and apply SDLC, Lean/Agile, CI, and security best practices to deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years with COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS and related tools.
• Experience managing offshore teams and delivery of projects.
• Migration of legacy systems to distributed environments.
• Familiarity with SDLC and Lean/Agile/XP, CI, security and testing practices.

• 8+ years of experience COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, ChangeMan, File Aid/File Manager, DFSORT, Syncsort and Easytrieve
• Develop high performing, scaling and innovative end-to-end applications
• Must have offshore team management experience.
• Experience in migration from legacy to distributed systems.
• Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices and Testing Techniques
• Write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project
• Understand performance parameters and assess application performance
• Experience on working with API through middleware.
• Working independently and taking ownership on business requirements.
• Collaborating with other technical partners and Product Owners.
• Strong technical and Analytical capabilities.
