Job summary

Quantum Technologies. LLC in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe COBOL applications for core banking functions.

You will participate in end-to-end SDLC activities, support batch and online processing, and analyze production incidents. The role collaborates with business partners, architects, QA, and infrastructure teams to ensure security, compliance, and robust release readiness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on COBOL development on z/OS.
• Experience with mainframe batch and online processing.
• Working knowledge of JCL, VSAM, and mainframe data structures.
• Experience with DB2 and/or IMS databases.
• Experience with GitHub Copilot and AI tooling.
• Familiarity with Endevor or similar source control/version management tools.
• Experience supporting production systems in a regulated or mission-critical environment.
• Ability to analyze complex system behaviors and troubleshoot issues effectively.
• Experience working within Agile or structured SDLC methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe COBOL applications supporting core banking functions
• Participate in end‑to‑end SDLC activities, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and support
• Develop and support batch and online processing workflows in high‑volume environments
• Analyze and resolve complex production incidents, performing root‑cause analysis and developing preventative solutions
• Contribute to application enhancements, regulatory changes, and modernization initiatives
• Collaborate with business partners, architects, QA, and infrastructure teams
• Participate in release planning, production readiness, and post‑release validation
• Ensure applications meet Wells Fargo security, risk, compliance, and audit requirements
• Support operational excellence, including performance tuning and availability improvements
• Participate in Agile delivery processes and enterprise SDLC standards
