Vidha IT Solutions LLC in the United States is hiring a Senior Mainframe Engineer / Administrator to manage IBM z/OS systems, automation, and production operations. The role combines on-site and remote work from Merrifield, VA, with a 12+ month engagement.

You will administer SA z/OS, NetView, REXX, and z/OS subsystems, drive automation, monitor performance, handle incidents, and mentor teammates while enabling high availability across CICS, Db2, IMS, and MQ.

Qualifikationen

• Expert-level SA z/OS administration, including policy development and resource automation.
• Strong z/OS operations, system configuration, monitoring, and production support.
• Hands-on z/OS administration with IPL, startup/shutdown, and health monitoring.
• Advanced REXX programming for enterprise automation and tools.
• Experience with IBM NetView: automation tables, message handling, and policy-driven automation.
• Experience designing automation across z/OS subsystems and middleware (CICS, Db2, IMS, MQ, JES).
• Knowledge of Parallel Sysplex, JCL, SDSF, TSO/ISPF, and z/OS ops.
• Experience with IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS/TWS/ZWS).
• Incident management, root cause analysis, and service restoration expertise.
• Automation integration with monitoring/event tools (OMEGAMON, ServiceNow, Moogsoft).
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and on-call rotation readiness.

Aufgaben

• Administer and automate IBM z/OS mainframe environments for stability and performance.
• Manage SA z/OS and NetView configurations and policy development.
• Develop REXX routines and automation scripts for enterprise operations.
• Support high-availability across z/OS subsystems (CICS, Db2, IMS, JES2/JES3, MQ).
• Monitor performance, capacity, and health; respond to incidents and outages.
• Collaborate with teams and mentor junior staff on best practices.
