Job summary

Chart Industries in Canton, GA is seeking a Machine Operator to operate machine tools and interpret blueprints and job orders. You will verify dimensions with calipers and micrometers, set cutting parameters, and inspect finished work for conformance to specs. Overtime and weekend hours may be required.

Hours: Mon-Thu, 5:00am–3:30pm; ISO and safety procedures apply. Ideal candidates have 2+ years machining experience, blueprint reading, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 2+ years machining experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing
• Experience reading blueprints and design sketches
• Experience with micrometers, calipers and tape measures
• Self-starter capable of managing multiple work orders with accuracy
• Basic geometry understanding and angle measurements
• Ability to identify problems and drive solutions
• Willingness to overtime and weekend hours

Responsibilities

• Operate machine tools listed (shear, saw, press break, head punch, milling, lathe, drill press, flaring, tube bending, tube polisher or pipe cutting)
• Verify conformance of machined work to specifications using calipers, micrometers, gauges
• Read and interpret machining instructions, orders and blueprints for specs
• Set cutting speeds, feeds, depths and tooling per instructions
• Inspect materials for quality
• Inspect completed work against blueprints and BOMs
• Adhere to safety and ISO standards
• Other duties as needed
