Job summary

InSource Design & Manufacturing Technologies seeks a skilled Machinist to operate a range of machines and manufacturing equipment per blueprint or job order specifications. You will develop and modify CNC programs, set up sheets, and ensure high-quality output with strict attention to detail.

The ideal candidate has extensive machining experience, exceptional precision, and the ability to work with minimal supervision while embracing new technologies to stay competitive.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience as a machinist in a manufacturing environment.
• The ability to read blueprints or job orders and make minor adjustments as needed to fulfill requirements.
• The ability to use precision tools to take accurate measurements.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop/modify CNC programs, fixtures and set up sheets. Specify part holding techniques, speeds, feeds and tooling.
• Must be well versed in GD&T.
• Operate and set-up machines within the department.
• Inspect parts and document results of inspections on in process inspection plans.
• Continuously monitor equipment and tooling. In the event of a breakdown or other event that would disrupt the process, notify department manager to resolve the problem.
• Follow the instructions on the setup sheet, drawings and/or programs.
• Assist with training of new team members and operators.
• Participate in new job reviews and design for manufacturing sessions. Identify opportunities for cost reduction and quality improvements.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Adhere to company safety requirements.
• Assure that assigned activities are performed in accordance with InSource Design & Manufacturing Technologies Quality System procedures, processes and standards.
• Read blueprints or job orders and make adjustments to equipment as needed, often with precision tools.
• Check final products for accuracy, and make adjustments to machines as needed to ensure the best final product.
• Conduct basic maintenance and repairs on equipment in your care.
• Highly proficient with one or more of the following CNC machines: DNS Mill, Mill-Turn.
• 3D CAD Skills.
• Able to program one or more CNC machine platforms.
• Experienced in use of caliper, micrometer, OC and height gage for dimensional inspection.
• Strong shop math skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to contribute to a team-oriented environment.
