Job summary

Pieper Automation is seeking a decisive leader to drive automation and machine safety programs from discovery through execution. You will engage customers, scope complex projects, and guide cross-functional teams, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient solutions.

Travel to sites and conferences is required as needed. You will mentor engineers, refine sales engineering processes, and coordinate with sales, project management, and engineering teams to deliver results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Automation, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in automation, machine safety, technical sales, or project engineering.
• Strong technical knowledge in control systems, automation hardware/software, and industrial processes.
• Proven ability to scope complex technical projects and communicate clearly with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Travel required to customer sites and conferences as needed.

Responsibilities

• Identify, qualify, and develop automation and safety programs through customer engagement and proactive outreach.
• Lead customer discovery meetings and site visits to assess feasibility and establish trust as the technical SME.
• Create conceptual machine safety solutions and architectures with support of the machine safety team and branch.
• Develop and deliver technical proposals, roadmaps, and client-tailored presentations.
• Mentor engineers and ensure seamless handoff to execution with early-phase technical oversight.
