Job summary

Pieper Automation seeks a Project Manager (PM) – Automation to lead end-to-end machine safety projects for diverse clients, from mid-size facilities to Fortune 100 companies, guiding risk assessments, scoping, design, integration, and third-party validation.

In this client-facing role you will coordinate engineering, project management, and field teams, drive PM processes, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure OSHA/ANSI standards are met while traveling to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in technical program/project management within industrial automation or functional safety.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, ANSI B11, ISO 12100, and ISO 13849-1 standards.
• Experience applying Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) to hardware or regulatory projects.
• Excellent client-facing communication and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as needed (25–50%).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, execute and deliver projects on time, on budget and within scope according to business requirements.
• Drive project management artifacts: charters, plans, resource plans, and governance.
• Act as primary liaison between Pieper Automation and clients; lead Safety Engineers, Controls Engineers, and Field Staff.
• Collaborate with Business Development on scoping, cost estimation, quotes, and alignment with capabilities.
• Direct 3rd-party safety validation and ensure compliance before handover to the client.
