Job summary

Pieper Automation is seeking a Project Manager (PM) – Automation to lead end-to-end machine safety projects for a diverse client base, from mid-size facilities to Fortune 100 companies. You will coordinate engineering, operations, and client development, guiding projects through risk assessments, scoping, design, integration, and 3rd-party validation.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in technical program/project management within industrial automation, systems integration, or functional safety.
Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing budgets and schedules.
Ability to scope complex safety projects, estimate costs, and translate regulatory requirements into actionable tasks.
Deep knowledge of machine safety standards (OSHA, ANSI B11, ISO 12100, ISO 13849-1).
Strong client-facing communication and ability to travel to client sites 25–50%.

Responsibilities

Coordinate projects with multiple business lines to deliver on time, on budget, and within scope.
Lead development of project charters, plans, resource plans, and management artifacts.
Manage billing and collections to support cash flow.
Drive process improvements to increase field productivity and resource efficiency.
Collaborate with safety engineers, controls engineers, and field staff to deliver turnkey safety solutions.
Lead technical scoping, cost estimation, and proposal development with Business Development.
Oversee design, integration, and 3rd-party validation of safety mitigations.
Direct 3rd-party safety validation to ensure compliance with standards before handover.
