Job summary

Eaton's Boyd Thermal Integration team is seeking a Machine Safety Engineering Specialist to assure functional safety and regulatory compliance of machinery and automated systems. The role applies ISO/IEC standards, risk assessment methods, and safety-related control design to reduce risk and support operational excellence.

The ideal candidate will lead risk assessments, develop SRS, validate safety functions, and collaborate with EHS, engineering, maintenance, and operations to strengthen safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• 6+ years of machinery safety, automation, or industrial controls experience.
• Strong proficiency in safety system design and deployment.
• Familiarity with LOTO procedures and energy control processes.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead machine safety risk assessments and hazard analyses per ISO 12100.
• Design, implement, and validate safety-related control systems per ISO & IEC standards.
• Develop SRS, define PLr/SIL, and implement emergency stops, interlocks, and safe motion.
• Verify safety systems through testing, analysis, and documentation.
• Create remediation plans and manage projects from assessment to implementation.
• Collaborate with EHS, engineering, maintenance, and operations to reduce risk.
• Maintain technical documentation and support the EMSE program.
