Job summary

Amcor in the United States is seeking a Machine Operator to oversee a specific production line, drive safety, quality, and efficiency, and maintain GMP standards. You will monitor uptime, scrap, output and coach teammates to operate safely and efficiently.

This role emphasizes hands-on maintenance, data entry, and continuous improvement through small-group activities, with training and development opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Three years manufacturing experience as a maintenance or production leader/operator.
• Must be able to read precision measuring tools and read and interpret basic mechanical and pneumatics schematics.
• Must have experience using Microsoft Office and accurate data entry.
• Must understand how to analyze data and influence effective decision making.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment where safety, customer focus, effectiveness & efficiency can be seen in people and equipment performance.
• Maximize equipment effectiveness and productivity and eliminate all machine losses.
• Create a sense of ownership with equipment and team members through respect, involvement, and training.
• Promote continuous improvement through small-group activities involving production, maintenance, engineering, 5S, inside and outside resources.
• Identify and troubleshoot machine issues as needed.
• Mentor, coach, and lead other personnel on the machine to run effectively.
• Train coworkers on proper operating techniques, knowledge, and practices
• Oversee new hire training for respective machine.
• Practice good housekeeping - including sweeping, dusting, wiping of tables, etc.
• Actively participate in all required trainings including but not limited to safety and technical trainings.
• Responsible for inspecting product at required frequency.
• Responsible for packaging all goods produced.
• Responsible for trimming and accuracy of all goods produced.
• Responsible for data accuracy of all transactions performed.
