Job summary

Job description

Job Summary

Work closely with the Helpers, Lead Operators and the Shift Supervisors. Work closely with the Quality Control Technicians to ensure that production processes meet our customer’s expectations. The operator’s main responsibility is to keep the line running acceptably quality product.

Essential Functions
  • Follow all company policies regarding safety, quality and attendance.
  • Perform duties in a safe manner and report all observed safety hazards to management.
  • Act as a role model for safety on the shift and participate in safety programs.
  • Enter near miss data and observations into the Global Data Center database (GDC).
  • Maintain operation of the designated line.
  • Take ownership of the line when it is down and be responsible for getting the line back up and running under normal operating conditions.
  • Ensure housekeeping is completed by the end of the shift.
  • Complete all operator paperwork and key information into the computer system.
  • Be responsible for all products run on the line.
  • Understand the process and operation of the equipment.
  • Perform adjustments to the machine as required for orders or to troubleshoot issues.
  • Diagnose problems on all parts of the line to manufacture quality products that meet order specifications.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by Management, Supervisor or Lead.
Education / Skills / Experience
  • Ability to use hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Ability to calibrate machines and understand different systems.
  • Ability to wear all required PPE (steel‑toed shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, and other PPE as required).
  • Ability to lift up to 65 lbs.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders.
  • Knowledge of navigating different computer programs.
  • Ability to communicate with other employees.

Employee may reach, climb, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, bend or twist up to 66% of the work shift.

Work Environment

The work environment is a manufacturing setting where the noise level is typically loud. Employees are required to use hearing, eye, and toe protection. Other PPE may be required when working around moving machinery.
