Job summary

Akerman LLP seeks a Corporate Associate with 5 to 8 years of experience in M&A and private equity transactions, including platform acquisitions and add-ons, to serve clients across multiple offices (Fort Lauderdale, Miami, New York, Orlando).

The ideal candidate will manage structuring, due diligence, and drafting and negotiating purchase and investment agreements, coordinating deal execution, and providing business‑oriented solutions.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to the Florida or New York Bar.
• At least five years of corporate experience at an Am Law 100 firm representing private equity sponsors.
• Experience in M&A and private equity transactions including platform acquisitions, add-ons, dispositions, joint ventures, and minority investments.
• Strong negotiation and drafting skills; excellent analytical and writing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate purchase and investment agreements and coordinate deal execution.
• Conduct structuring and due diligence for transactions.
• Manage multiple aspects of complex M&A and private equity deals.
• Represent private equity sponsors and portfolio companies.
