The role partners with senior business leaders and cross-functional teams to drive growth while managing legal, regulatory and reputational risk.

The successful candidate has a JD, 8+ years of experience, and the ability to lead complex commercial matters in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and ability to maintain in-house authorization.
• 8+ years of post-law-school experience in a sophisticated law firm, in-house department, or comparable setting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as strategic legal leader to North America Retail business leaders in US and Canada.
• Advise on marketing, advertising, consumer communications, product claims, brand activity and risk management.
• Collaborate with IP, Food Law, Government and Regulatory Affairs to provide holistic advice.
• Identify legal and compliance risks early and propose practical options with a balanced path forward.
• Manage external counsel when appropriate, including scoping, evaluating advice and controlling spend.
