Job summary

CEL Critical Power in Williamsburg, VA, is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to design LV switchgear, prepare schematics using EPLAN, and ensure UL standards compliance.

You will size components, perform fault level calculations, generate BOMs, and coordinate with Mechanical, Production and suppliers to deliver compliant, high-quality assemblies. This role supports CEL's global expansion and advanced power distribution solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years in LV switchgear design and schematic development.
• Proficiency in EPLAN or similar electrical CAD software.
• Strong knowledge of UL standards and electrical protection concepts.
• Experience creating GA drawings and BOMs.

Responsibilities

• Design LV switchgear schematics and assemblies per UL/IEC standards.
• Prepare GA drawings in coordination with Mechanical Design.
• Perform fault level calculations, cable sizing and thermal analysis.
• Generate and maintain BOMs; support FAT and documentation.
• Collaborate with Production, Mechanical, PM and suppliers.
