Job summary

CEL Critical Power in Williamsburg, VA is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer responsible for the design, documentation and compliance of LV switchgear across our product range. You will translate client requirements into detailed electrical designs and produce schematic and GA drawings using EPLAN or equivalent software.

The role also covers BOM management, FAT support, and coordination with Mechanical Design, Project Management and Production to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to UL,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 3–5 years of LV switchgear design experience.
• Strong knowledge of UL standards, NEC and three-phase power.
• Experience creating detailed electrical schematics from client specifications.
• Proficiency with EPLAN or equivalent electrical CAD software.
• Ability to coordinate with Mechanical Design, Project Management and Production to align designs with requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design low voltage switchgear assemblies and electrical schematics.
• Prepare GA drawings in coordination with Mechanical Design.
• Select and size electrical components and perform fault/load calculations.
• Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Support FAT procedures and prepare associated technical documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with IEC standards and client specifications.
• Coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to meet project needs.
