Job summary

CEL Critical Power Ltd. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, document and maintain mechanical drawings and models for switchgear and power distribution products in our Williamsburg, VA facility.

You will create 3D assemblies and 2D drawings, manage BOMs, source 3D components from suppliers, and optimize designs for manufacturability and cost. The role requires hands-on CAD experience, strong collaboration with design, production and supply chain, and familiarity with electrical schematics

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
Autodesk Inventor proficiency or equivalent.
Experience with sheet metal design and fabrication.
Ability to read electrical schematics from a mechanical perspective.
Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain 3D assemblies of electrical switchgear panels and components using Autodesk Inventor or equivalent.
Produce detailed 2D manufacturing drawings with tolerances, bend details and material specs.
Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for mechanical designs.
Research and acquire 3D component models from supplier databases; model components from scratch when data is unavailable.
Verify dimensions and clearances against datasheets and docs; ensure CAD standards compliance.
