Job summary

Ford Motor Company’s EVDD team seeks a Sr. Electrical System Validation Engineer to validate Low Voltage systems, lead vehicle bring-up, and define architectures for next generation electric platforms.

You will work cross-functionally with design and validation teams to ensure reliability, safety, and performance across vehicle programs, in a hybrid onsite setting in the United States.

Qualifications

• B.S in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of combined electrical HW design and low voltage system validation experience.
• 3+ years of experience with performing WCCA analysis.
• Power Electronics HW development including schematic and layout design, board bring up, bench testing.
• Deep technical knowledge on power converter topologies including isolated and non-isolated.
• Hands-on experience in power electronics and electrical system testing.
• Experience with systems development and EV electrical architecture.
• Strong fundamentals in electrical engineering and automotive concepts.
• Proven debugging and diagnostic skills across electrical, mechanical, and software domains.
• Experience designing test plans to validate automotive LV systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform bench and vehicle level electrical system testing and validation.
• Conduct Worst Case Circuit Analysis on power electronics and LV systems.
• Review schematics and layouts for LV ECUs and controllers.
• Propose design changes to improve LV system performance.
• Perform LV system fault testing and validate protection strategies.
• Perform LV system power budget testing and validation.
• Simulate electrical systems to characterize LV stability.
• Develop test plans to validate LV system performance.
• Gain deep knowledge of LV architecture and improve reliability.
• Collaborate with suppliers to characterize loads in LV systems.
